Origins Zero Oil Cleanser; Aesop Camomile Concentrate Anti-Blemish Mask; NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Use Dry Oil; MAC Fleur Power blush; NARS New Lover Velvet Gloss pencil *
After last weeks makeup-free week I thought I had better get my act together, until I realised that I've been reaching for the same old products day in and day out for the last few weeks! Well, if it ain't broke…
My skin has been breaking out recently so I've gone back to my trusty routine to banish these blemishes!
First up, I repurchased my no-nonsense cleanser, Origins Zero Oil. At even a hint of a misbehaving skin this comes out and my skin is left purified and thoroughly cleansed. I ran out of this a couple of months back and thought my recent breakout could be due to withdrawal. After a few uses, my skin is on the road to recovery! The best thing about the cleanser compared to others I've tried is that it in no way leaves my skin feeling tight or stripped.
Next up, one mask that always helps to sort out those hideous under the skin spots is the Aesop Camomile Concentrate Anti-Blemish Mask, it really soothes and reduces redness and swelling. At the first sign of a sore lump, I leave this on for 10 minutes (or overnight) and after a few days it's usually considerably smaller.
Another product I've been relying on completely in this harsh weather is the NUXE Huile Prodigieuse, it's a multi-use dry oil and something I always reach for post-shower. I use it in my hair, massage some in to my face and also use it on the dry areas on the tops of my arms. It makes my skin feel oh-so-amazing and I don't think a day has gone by recently where I haven't used it!
I've been keeping makeup minimal recently but two products I've dug out to wear lately are MAC Fleur Power blush and NARS New Lover Velvet Gloss pencil. Fleur Power was one of my first MAC blushers and I still wear it often. It's become a winter wonder recently, perking up my complexion and leaving my skin looking flushed and healthy. When the weather outside is sub-zero, extra measures must be taken to ensure we're not all washed-out Wendy's!
NARS New Lover is a new product I've fallen for recently, it's something I probably wouldn't have thought to pick up, these Velvet Gloss pencils (despite owning a few of the Velvet Matte pencils) but oh sweet heavens, I've fallen and fallen hard. These glossy yet pigmented, shimmery yet lightweight pencils give a glossy finish with a load of colour. New Lover is especially pretty, a strawberry pink with a gold shimmer throughout (yep, it's a beaut!) and it's been gracing my lips most days recently - something tells me this might be a smaller size from the ones you buy, although I'm not completely sure.
So there we have it, and the moral here is; when in doubt - stick to what you know. What are your thoughts on this weeks picks?

The Nars lip colour is beautiful, and I really need to try out that Origins cleanser! My skin has been horrendous recently and it sounds like this would help sort it. xo
ReplyDeleteI've been going makeup free too lately, only digging out tinted lip balm and blusher when I feel like I looka little blah. (:
ReplyDeletefleur power looks so nice, I always prefer wearing pink to peach blushers in winter! xo
ReplyDeleteI'm almost about to run out of my REN mayblossom cleanser and have been deliberating over the origins zero oil, I just can't decide if I like the smell of it whenever I walk by an origins counter! I'm ever so fickle ;)
