It wasn't until this year that I really discovered cream blushes, I'd always been a blusher girl - my blush drawer is seriously overflowing - but I'd always preferred and felt familiar with powder blushes. I'm not sure what changed my mind, but I've barely picked up a powder blush since.
I'd been circling the Kevyn Aucoin counter for some time before taking the plunge and picking up Liquifuschia, a bright Fuschia not for the faint of heart. I wanted something a bit more daring for winter, a contrasting shade against my fair skin. My friends and Instagram followers were a little shocked when they saw this fearless shade and its not a colour I have in my collection (nor anything near it!).
All that aside, this has to be my most worn blush at the moment, the pop of colour it adds to my cheeks is so flattering and easy to wear. I usually team this shade with simple nude eyes for day or smokey eyes if I'm going out. The creamy formula blends in really beautifully and I'm already wondering which shade to go for next.
My advice? Don't be scared to pick up a slightly daunting blush, blend it in well using a Stippling brush or my favourite brush the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. A pop of bright colour looks perfect on cheeks, just don't be too heavy-handed.
Can you recommend any daring shades of blusher?
you always look great whatever shade you wear! will definitely be trying this out I've heard so many good things about Kevyn Aucoin x
ReplyDeleteI would never have thought to pick up a color like this, but it look gorgeous on you! It's not at all overpowering, and still adds a good wash of color. Love it!

Such a beautiful colour, really suits you. So tempted to try a couple of Kevyn Aucoin items, I've heard so many good things about the brand recently! x
ReplyDeleteWow, I thought my MAC Fashion Frenzy was a bright pink, but this is super bright! It looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteI really need to get my hands on a few more cream blushes to try out.
I like the look of this! I think it's best to buy the most pigmented products out there, as they last longer (as you need to use less) and even if they're expensive, you use a lot less xo

I have Stila Gladiola and looks bright coral but looks really natural if you slightly dab it.

Never in a million years would I expect this to give such a gorgeous result. Most vivid blushers make me run a mile but I might have to give one a go eventually!
ReplyDeleteWow it looks gorgeous! X
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous! I've recently started using cream blusher too and I love it now! Urban Decay does some gorgeous shades- I love Crush and Fetish xx
ReplyDeleteWow! That colour is unreal!! It looks really lovely on though, I'd love to try it :) xx
ReplyDeleteThis looks so pretty on you, but I'm way too rubbish to try something this daring! Maybe one day I'll grow a pair and be less boring :) <3

It's amazing how bright it looks in the tub and looks so lovely on the skin...
ReplyDeleteI'll have to be a bit braver with my blushes, there's a powder one by Bobbi Brown I've had my eye on in a shade called "Peony" that looks REALLY bright in the tub - I might just brave trying it on!

ReplyDeleteit looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteI have an unrelated question - have you ever done a post on eyebrows? How you fill/groom them, what you use, etc.? My apologies if it's been done and I haven't searched very carefully, it's just something I'm always interested in from beauty bloggers since I'm rubbish at doing my own. Yours always look fantastic! xx
maybe you should try a red blush and see if you like it?
ReplyDeleteNars has a matte powder blush (Exhibit A is the name I think)and Stila also has a red convertible color in Poppy :)

I would have never gone for this shade, but seeing how you wear it is making me reconsider!

Most Kevin Aucoin products are fabulous, but they are sooo expensive! And so hard to get here in Spain! :( This blush looks amazing! :)

Love this colour on you, I always used to steer clear of blushes after going a bit OTT when I was teenager but bought Style by Mac and fallen in love might have to try a more daring shade
ReplyDeletethat shade looks beautiful on you! It looks so much more subtle than it does in the pan, great choice :) x
ReplyDeleteIt does look scary in the pan, but I find a lot of colours are like this. I once bought Bobbi Browns Pale pink and it looks anything but pale in the pan but like the K.A. one it is gorgeous once blending onto the skin.
