L'Oreal Mythic Oil; KMS Hair Play Moulding Paste; Origins A Perfect World Antioxidant Moisturiser; This Works Perfect Look Skin Miracle; Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Body Creme.
It's been a pretty makeup-free week lately, mainly due to being busy, ill and not really feeling it was necessary. I also like to give my skin a bit of a break sometimes and after a few days sans makeup, my skin looking clearer and healthier than ever. Hoorahh.
My hair has been the main concern as of late, it needs a cut but I haven't found the time to hunt down a new hairdresser. My hair is looking slightly lifeless so I've taken to using two of my all-time favourite products to inject a bit of body and shine into my locks. The first product is the L'Oreal Mythic Oil, a lightweight hair oil that smells gorgeous. I find this a lot lighter and easier to use than other oils (I find most to be quite rich and heavy), I apply a pump or two to towel dried hair to smooth and control frizz. The ends of my hair absorb this quickly and I can brush through my hair easier without damaging it and it looks so much smoother for longer between washes.
For volume and texture, which flat my hair requires constantly, I swear by this KMS Hair Play Moulding Paste. I rub a small amount in the palms of the hands before applying through the roots and mid lengths of my damp hair. I find this is one of the only products that gives my hair texture without leaving it feeling sticky and dirty. It's a great product for fine-hair girls or those who wash their hair every day and need a little bit of that grit that comes with sexy, undone, day-old hair.
I've been using a new Origins product lately, A Perfect World Antioxidant Moisturiser. I use this as a day cream and recently I've been reaching for it most days. I think Origins products are some of the best I've found, this particular moisturiser helps to seal moisture in the skin and creates a barrier to protect. My skin has been suffering recently with the cold weather and this is really helping to restore what's being lost. It's more nourishing than most of the creams I have and I find it's a better base for my skin in the winter, my foundation applies better and doesn't feel caked or tight throughout the day.
For lazy days, the This Works Perfect Look Skin Miracle is a primer and tinted moisturiser in one that I've been a fan of recently. I wasn't overly keen on this at first but I've found it can give you a really flawless base. The tint covers imperfections and redness and the smoothing action means skin looks a lot more refined. I use this alone or under foundation or BB cream for a base that hides all.
Lastly, a recent addition to my scents collection is this Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Body Creme. It's quite scented so I use it as a perfume, dotting it on to my wrists. This is just a sample size but I love the scent. I think it's a bit strong (not to mention pricey for a full size) to slather it all over yourself like you would your average body cream but I think it's perfect for a bit of a long lasting fragrance.
I promise next week I shall be a little more experimental with my makeup as it's all been skincare and haircare this week! What do you think of my favourite products?
Looking for a review? You might find it in my product directory!
I agree with hair, this season has just made my hair look horrid. It's in dire need of a cut. I'd love to try the Mythic oil.

My hair has been horrible recently - I blame how cold it is outside and how dry my flat is when we turn on the heating!
ReplyDeleteI've not tried the Mythic Oil yet but I'm loving the 'Extraordinary Oil' at the minute!

Have you tried L'Oreal TechniArt's Super Dust? It's a volumising and texturising hair powder, and by far the best I've tried. I feel like you would really like it!
ReplyDeleteI received Mythic Oil in a Glossybox and it's one of my favourite hair products ever! It makes my fine hair soft and light and smooth, and I barely use straighteners these days (which is great for early morning time saving)!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing is that if I use it all week my hair can feel a bit greasy, so I use a non-oil product once or twice a week to combat that and it works.
Does the scent from the Jo Malone Body Creame last all day? It would be great if the scent from the body cream actually lasted all day like a normal fragrance!
ReplyDeleteI really want to try the Mythic oil, I've heard such great things about it. Love the sound of the This Works primer too xx
