Dreamy Base Combo.

Even though my skin looks quite clear most days, I'm still partial to a good coverage foundation (or a BB cream if I'm just lazing about). I find foundations are reliable, stay put and last longer. Saying that, I have recently tried a skincare combination that has changed my mind on this and I can now wear BB cream more often or nothing at all; just these two products.

I've been using the Origins VitaZing moisturiser for as long as I can remember, it has a very sheer tint and gives skin, not colour, but a really healthy glow which I think covers up imperfections and redness on it's own really well. This is the main reason I love this, it makes my base look really clear and I find myself reaching for lighter coverage products to go on top.
A few people have said this can either make them look orange or really ashy, I used to use a really, really small amount of this when I first got it so don't be afraid to mix in a little moisturiser or spend a bit longer blending it in - it's absolutely worth it.

A new product I've been trialling recently is the This Works Perfect Look Skin Miracle, this is probably one of the most overhyped products ever BUT I do like it. At first I wasn't a fan but I've warmed to it and I can now see the benefits. I apply this after VitaZings for a smoothed over finish with a little bit of colour and my skin looks really lovely.
This is meant to be a tinted moisturiser but I don't think it gives too much coverage, it reminds me of a coloured primer. It just seems to give the right amount of coverage to hide everything and works so well over VitaZings that I just don't feel the need to slap on any other base product after this.

If you're looking to downgrade your makeup or refresh your base, this simple combination is working out to be a dream for me. Even on days where my pores look like the surface of the moon, or when a few nasty blemishes or patches of redness have shown themselves, I still apply these two products, a little bit of concealer if I need it and then carry out with my usual routine.

What do you think of my easy base combination?

  3. An interesting mix, I've heard good things about both products individually but would of never thought to use them together. My only issue with the Origins products is they start quite dark in colour.

  9. If this was any other blogger I'd be like.. watevs you have perfect skin therefore this has nothing to do with me.. and totally ignore the advice. But because you've been honest about the fact that you suffer with spots and scarring know I can try this kind of thing too.

So thanks for making me believe in tinted moisturizers but not thanks for making me addicted to your blog and giving me cause to spend more money! You are too good!
