Mulberry Oversized Taylor.

As you know, I've been after a Mulberry for some time now. I chose the Oversized Taylor as I love a big bag, and I couldn't be happier.

Miu Miu Purse.

I was lucky enough to get this gorgeous purse for Christmas. It's actually more of a birthday present, as I wanted something a bit special that I could get for my 21st and seeing as I don't wear watches and couldn't choose any jewellery, I set my heart on a gorgeous Miu Miu purse.
It's probably one of the loveliest things I own, the colour is gorgeous - a peachy/coral pink.

Recent Purchases.

A few recent buys, including this amazing Topshop Studded Makeup Bag that I've had my eye on for a while now. I think it's quite a good size for carting around what you need daily in your handbag. It will also go very well with the Mulberry bag I'm after!

I'm on a bit of a mission at the moment, I really want to get out of the habit of washing my hair each day! I hate the feeling of unwashed hair, but I think I'm just going to have to deal with it as my hair sits so much better when I've not washed it. I bought some Batiste dry shampoo and a new Tangle Teezer to help me do it... hopefully over time it won't need to be washed every day.
The Tangle Teezer has been on my wishlist for a while now, and I'm really impressed with it. My hair doesn't really get massively knotted but sometimes in the mornings I do end up being hard on it and probably causing quite a lot of damage. This is a breeze to use, it flows through hair so easily!

The Rimmel Stay Matte powder has been a favourite of mine for the last few months. If you haven't purchased this already, you absolutely must! I use this far more than any other powder, including my MAC MSFs. It's great to give a lovely finish and take away any shine.

Barry M has a new lip colour out, which is 154 Pale Nude. I bought this as their lipsticks are cheap and usually worth the money. I wasn't able to show you the colour, but it is very similar to MACs Creme Cup, probably slightly more on the matte side and not as good quality. The colour is nice, but I think I'll stick to the MAC version, Pale Nude looks ever so slightly dry on my lips! (Here's my post on MAC Creme Cup and Hue)

I also managed to find the new Limited Ed. Creme Brulee Vaseline, I spotted it in a Boots queue the other day. It was the first time I'd seen it so I wasted no time picking it up. It's not very different from the Cocoa Butter version they have in terms of smell, but I do like it and since it's winter, I'll probably get a fair amount of use from it.

Finally, I picked up the Soap and Glory Fab Pore 15 Minute Facial Peel a couple of weeks ago after hearing good things about it. It's a clay-based mask with exfoliating particles, ideal for problem skin. It's a great mask, although I'm not sure it does anything for my pores. My skin looks healthier after use, so I'm pleased with the results.

Recent Purchases: Topshop; Primark.

I recently bought some Topshop studded loafers and a pair of Primark teal brogues, both of which are so "me" and I've really got my moneys worth out of them recently.
The teal brogues are really... sturdy, and by that I mean they seem perfect for the winter months.

I also got my Boudoir Prive box, which was a bit late this month (although I believe that was to do with the recent Hurricane in America, but I could be wrong).
I'm still really undecided on this box, I'm contemplating ending my subscription as I already subscribe to Glossybox and I find that is more suited to me.
There are some lovely things in this months Boudoir Prive box, I'm really excited to try the Macadamia Oil but other than that, nothing really excited me.

Last week I was at home in Scotland, which was amazing. I met up with my best friends in Edinburgh, and had such a good time.
On Thursday I am moving to London, which is so scary/exciting! To be fair, I'm pretty used to making big moves on my own, but London is a whole other story. I'm going to be interning at a beauty PR company! I'm really really excited (can you tell?) but also very sad to be leaving Leeds as I've lived here for a year now and I love the city. Time to move on though!
So with that, my blog posts will be sporadic while I get used to crazy city life!

Wish me luck!

Review: MAC Hue & MAC Creme Cup.

I recently bought a couple of new MAC lipsticks, which are a lot different from the rest of my collection as they are more nude and natural colours, suitable for wearing during the day. I chose creamy finishes because my lips get so dry, and I bought these for work so I didn't want a matte lipstick drying out my lips instantly.

Hue is a soft pale pink (as seen in the second picture) which is lovely and nude, I think it suits my skintone, especially for wearing throughout the day. It's a Glaze formula, and I think my only one! I really like it, it's creamy and easy to wear.

Creme Cup is a popular MAC lipstick, and one I've recently really fallen in love with. As the second picture shows, it's quite a blue pink lipstick and one that would suit being worn day or night. It's a Cremesheen finish, which is probably my favourite MAC formula as it's really quite pigmented whilst also being moisturising and easy to apply.

Next on my MAC lipstick is probably Cut a Caper, which I'm desperately after!

Ps. I'm sorry the lighting in the two pictures is so different, they were taken at different points in the day!

Review: No. 7 Makeup.

As I'm sure you're all aware, the Boots £5 No. 7 vouchers are back on! I bought a couple of nice things yesterday, and ended up getting a free gift (when you spend over £22) which I'll no doubt be posting about.

I got my friend Kerry, who is a No. 7 makeup artist, to match me up on No. 7 for a new foundation. I have quite a few foundations on the go at the moment but none are properly my colour or just aren't working for me at the moment. She suggested trying Beautifully Matte for my normal/combination (slightly oily) skin type. She spent ages matching me up, bless her! We eventually settled on 05 Cream, and after trying it on today I think it looks perfect.
I've been meaning to find a cheaper alternative to my MAC and Clinique foundations for some time, I find that my skin seems to get used to products pretty quickly so I'm always rotating what I use which I think works well for me.

Beautifully Matte is quite a full coverage foundation, it contains an oil-absorbing powder to absorb the excess oils, which is perfect for my skin type.
I applied it with my Sigma Flat Top Kabuki Brush, which I highly recommend, and absolutely loved the results! It goes on really well, without looking heavy, and gives a natural matte finish.
I applied a highlighter to my cheekbones to make me look a bit more "glowing" and always added a bit of powder on top to my T-zone.
I'd really recommend this foundation, I think it is my new firm favourite!

I also bought a lipstick in Forever Cherry, which is one of the new ones from the Wild Volume range. I've never really been into red lipsticks but I think this is quite easy to wear because it has pink undertones and is still very creamy. My lips get really dry, but this helps to keep them moisturised without making them look flaky and also stays on for so long!

What has everyone spent their vouchers on?

Recent Purchases: New Look, H&M.

Striped & Mint Tops, both New Look;
Burgundy Cardigan, Black Skirt & Grey Tshirt all H&M;
Peach top, Internacionale;
Necklace, Asda.

A few things I bought today when I was shopping in town, you'll see them fully in outfit posts soon no doubt.
Some of the tops are a bit summery, although I am mostly buying A/W clothing from now on as I hate summer dressing. I'm so excited for buying a new pair of winter boots and a big coat! I almost bought a scarf today too. I love the burgundy and mustard colours which are in the shops at the moment!

I'm heading back to Leeds tomorrow, which means normal blogging shall resume! I can't wait to have my DSLR back, as I've only got a digital/bridge camera with me (hence the rubbish quality pictures!)

You can go your own way.

Tonight is all about BED. I went out with my friend Sarah tonight for dinner and drinks, possibly had one too many cocktails and now I'm sleepy.

Yesterday I decided to take the plunge and purchase some St. Tropez. I also bought a tanning mit (i highly recommend) and put the thinnest layer on as it was my first time using a real fake tan. I woke up this morning with lovely tanned skin. I'm really impressed with it, and although I do love a gradual tanner, I think I will be using this from now on.
I put another layer on tonight which was a bit thicker so I'm hoping to wake up with lovely bronzed skin tomorrow.

I only have one day left of work and it's off to watch the boyfriend play at Lovebox in London!

Recent Purchases: Sleek, Barry M.

L-R Blush swatches: Me Me Me Blush Me! in Coral and Sleek Blush in Lifes a Peach.

I made a few purchases again today, I've really been very good on the whole spending front recently so I think I deserve it (sort of). I picked up two Barry M polishes, in Peach Melba and Blue Moon. I have been hunting down Peach Melba for so so long! I finally found it today in one of the bigger shops. Very pleased! Its a lovely colour, a light peach. I also fell in love with Blue Moon, a pastel baby blue. Its an interesting colour, it seems to have a ever so slight sheen to it when its wet but nothing when it's dried (that I can see...) I highly recommend both of these.

I also picked up a new Sleek blusher called Life's a Peach. This is another one I've been desperately searching for, I'm so in love with peaches and corals. I don't think I own any other blushers this shade, its a really true peach shade which will look gorgeous with a tan.
Finally, I got my hands on the Me Me Me Blush Me! blush in Coral. This is a favourite of the blogging world, and I can tell I'm going to love it.

What's everyones thoughts on my new buys?

Keep or Return.

TOPSHOP dress; H&M necklace.

Another fine example of my obsession with all things coral. I picked this dress up in the Topshop sale, and although I do like it, I'm not sure if I would actually wear it. Planning on returning it I think.

Leeds has been so warm today! I was not prepared, I hadn't painted my nails (so I couldn't wear sandals) and I was pasty pale (and therefore anything floaty and summery was not an option!). My flatmate and I went and had a wander around town and I bought a few more summery outfits... although I'm pretty sure I probably missed the hottest day.

These past few days have been all about finding some work experience in Leeds, I want to do something in marketing or PR eventually, ideally centred around beauty and/or fashion so I'm trying to fit in some experience around my full time job. It's proving to be near impossible finding anything.

What's everyone got planned for tonight then? I'm pretty sleepy after today so just going to fake tan and watch a movie. Thinking of getting my hair did tomorrow, I'm actually so sick of it! Thoughts?

Recent Purchases: Topshop Sale.

Just a few things I picked up from the Topshop sale, which I thought was really good (it was here in Leeds anyway!). I could have bought heaps more but I'm trying to be better with money. Nightmare.
I have both of the tops in different colours already but they are ones I wear all the time so it's justified.

The little eyeshadow duos were only £3 each, which is amazing as I wanted to buy them the other day so I'm glad I waited.

What did you get in the Topshop sale?

Recent Purchases: Liz Earle.

I think I've expressed my love for Liz Earle enough since my blogging debut 6 months ago, but I thought I'd do a small post on some things I've purchased recently. We have a shop here in Leeds which is lucky but also slightly terrifying for my bank balance. I do think the Liz Earle products are reasonably priced considering how lovely they are.
I bought the Botanical Shine Shampoo and Conditioner (normal hair). I've heard lovely things about these products and they are really great. There is only one variety of shampoo, but the conditioner comes in a few different types (I bought one for normal hair, but there are others such as one for oily/fine hair and also dry/damaged ends).

I also bought a new moisturiser. Moisturiser is one of those products which I can never seem to get right, and my skin has become quite oily recently (but also dry on my cheeks) so I went for the normal/combination moisturiser in the hope it will help my skin type to become a bit more normal. I love this moisturiser, it's very light and you only need such a small amount which means this tub will last a while. It's not heavy or greasy and my makeup applies well afterwards. I was going to go for the oily skin type moisturiser but chose this in the end to deal with my drier areas as well.

Lastly, I bought a pack of muslin cloths as I always use these. I know I could have got heaps off ebay for cheap but theres something about the LE ones, they are so soft! Ahh a new pack of muslin cloths, about to be turned orange from my makeup!

Anyone else had a Liz Earle splurge recently?

Recent Purchases: Clinique, Body Shop, ELF.

I thought I'd post about a few products I've bought recently. Clinique had a free gift recently when you bought two products (one to be skincare) and as I needed my Clinique Even Better foundation (and the gift was pretty good) I thought I'd get a cleanser to take off my makeup too.
The second photo shows the products in the gift - a scrub, Moisture Surge, eye cream, eye makeup remover, hand & nail cream and mascara. They're all sample size, but still pretty reasonable. I'm sure you will know from reading my blog that I travel a lot so having miniatures to take with me is really great.
I'm not sure how I feel about the Take the Day Off cleansing milk, I like a cleanser that takes off my eye makeup as well but I tried to use this on my eyes and it was torture. I honestly thought the pain would never end. So this is definitely for the face only! I'm sure if I wasn't so lazy I would love this.
I'm also not so keen on the eye makeup remover, it doesn't seem to be as good as others I've tried. It's very oily, which I'm used to, but the cotton pad seems to soak up all the liquid and then the cotton pad feels quite dry... but oily at the same time. It doesn't really "wet" the eye area so the makeup isn't dissolved. I'm not sure if that just means I need to use more, I will have to experiment. It's a very handy size to take away with me though so I'm sure it will get some use.

I also bought InStyle magazine which I read anyway, but it came with a free £5 Body Shop gift card which is pretty good! I think The Body Shop has really gone up in price and is almost too expensive for what it is. I love like their products though, so I'll definitely find something to spend this on.
I've had the Models Own & Wah Nail Pen for a while, my first one broke on the first use so they sent me another one but it's been sitting at my parents house in Scotland for months. I will definitely be using this a lot in the next few weeks, trying to get the hang of nail art!
I was sent this Soap & Glory Make Yourself Youthful Eye Cream at work, and I've not tried it yet but it's a massive seller so I'm looking forward to it!

Lastly, I made a small order to ELF recently as it was 20% their Studio line and I have been dying to get the Stipple brushes for so long. I ended up buying two, as well as a Complexion brush, an Angled Contour Brush and a Fan brush. Really excited about using these tomorrow morning. I think I will use one Stipple brush for my foundation and the other for my cream blushers. Any tips for applying foundation with a stipple brush?

Ps. I've said this on twitter already, but incase she doesn't have twitter, I just wanted to say sorry to the girl who spoke to me in Tesco today. I felt a bit self conscious that you looked at me funny, I genuinely thought I had something on my face! It made me a bit awkward and I didn't understand when you asked about my blog. Not sure why it didn't click, but I felt like an idiot when I got halfway home and realised! I'm so sorry! If you read this, please say hi so I can stop worrying about it! <3
