Joliebox - February 2012.

Joliebox - MARCH 2012

This is only the second box since Boudoir Prive became Joliebox - I was quite pleased with last months, although I did find it slightly hit and miss. I find that a lot with Beauty Boxes, one mans treasure is another mans junk... or something. Some people love the box and every product, but at the same time it doesn't do a lot for others.

This months box, however, is definitely for me. As soon as I saw the Taaj Micellar Water, I was sold. I have been looking for a gentle, Micellar cleanser for awhile now as I've deemed good ol' Bioderma far too expensive for a posh water. Micellar cleansers are a liquid cleanser, they contain micellar particles which break down dirt, makeup etc. to remove and cleanse (rather than smearing it around your face like other cleansers). I found that this cleanser worked so well, it was such a simple task of taking makeup off. It felt like I was using water, there was no strong scent, no stingy eyes or skin and no rubbing at my mascara to get it all off.
My eyes have been very poorly lately so it's been great to use something so gentle yet effective. I shall absolutely be purchasing the full size of this.

The Lavera hand cream is another product I've enjoyed using, it actually now lives in my coat pocket as it's a good size - my hands have been so dry this winter! I wasn't keen on the smell at first, but I don't mind it so much as it doesn't linger. The cream absorbs in well and makes my hands so soft without any greasy feeling or questionable scent.

I'm sure most people were happy to get the Macadamia Deep Repair Masque. I was really pleased to receive it also, I've tried the Macadamia oil which is lovely and smells gorgeous so I know I'll love the mask. I made a promise to myself to never use masques or conditioners as my hair really doesn't need it, but I think I'll make an exception for this occasionally. I already know it's going to smell lovely and leave my hair feeling so soft.

Jane Iredale isn't a brand I'm familiar with, but I loved the look of this little product. I wasn't convinced it was going to be a "stain" as such, but sure enough it does leave the loveliest, most natural pink colour on your lips/cheeks. It smells gorgeous too, and it's really good for lips as its moisturising. Some stains can cling to the dry skin on lips and make it more apparent, so I'm a fan of this nourishing stain!
I think I'll stick this in my bag to use at work/when I'm out as it's such a cute size!

Lastly, I didn't really give this Kimia Rejuvenating Facial System sample much time, but it has actually turned out to be one of my favourites. The idea is to apply the step one (an oil) to cleansed and toned skin, massaging it in before applying step two, the activator to give the "Kimia Glow". The aim of this natural system is to penetrate the skin to produce a velvety soft texture and a lovely glow.
I used this after the bath last night and it felt so lovely, my skin instantly looked radiant and clear. I'm going to use this sample and then see how I feel - I might want to try the full sized version!

Overall, I'm really pleased with this months box. I love the drawstring bag, I felt guilty about throwing away all the packaging I get from beauty boxes so this limits it slightly. I love the natural theme to this box, and I've really enjoyed trying out the products. I've only heard of two brands from this box - Lavera and Macadamia, so it was a great way to sample products without committing to full size.

What are your thoughts on this months box? Are you thinking of subscribing?

  8. That Taaj water sounds intriguing, never heard of micellar cleansers before. Would love to try one out, especially since they seem gentle to the skin but actually work in taking makeup off quite easily.
