A post of my Yayer dress which I bought for going out in London (I think) a few months back but didn't end up wearing it in the end. Now I can't think what I'll wear it to. It's in my blogshop to be sold, but I quite like it here.
I really don't know what to do with myself today, I'm trying to find internships in London but keep getting distracted by other things like tweaking my blog layout! I wish I had an attention span of more than a few minutes.
Yesterday I had the most blog hits I've ever had before, which was good! I love seeing my little blog grow, I remember in January I only had 30 followers. I've expressed my disliking of the #bbloggers tag on Twitter mainly because it seems to always turn into a debate on what you should and shouldn't do in blogging. I think if you yourself would read your blog and you're happy with it, that's what will make you gain readers. I know people say that it doesn't matter how many readers/followers you have, but really, I wouldn't want to be talking to myself forever. If you're happy with where your blog is, the content is original and you love doing it, there shouldn't be rules to follow! I saw some things last night which were just plain crazy; "always take perfect pictures and write thorough reviews" just have fun and do what you think is good!
That's my two cents anyway!
Here are a couple of blogs I think deserve a little mention: Jennie, Dayner, Bee, Lauren.
Agree with you on the blogging front, although I always lack imagination on how to revamp and keep people interested.
ReplyDeleteOnly just found your blog, have spent the morning reading through old posts :)
this dress looks lovely on you!
ReplyDeletegood luck with finding something in london, my head see,ms to be fried at the moment with trying to figure out what to do about work, it's hellish at the moment as we don't know what will happen with the company, all depends on whether we get new projects in or not..
i've been giving the last few #bblogers chats a miss as well as i think they just get a bit too much like a debate.. i'm happy to make the decisoins for my blog based on what i want from it, not to try and fit in with what someone else thinks is the way i should do things.
That colour really does look lovely on you! But I know how annoying it is when you feel like you have nowhere to where something.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your blog having grown so much! I know what you mean, it's nice to know people care enough about what you're saying to follow you, haha! I've never even heard of the #bblogger tag...

That dress is lovely, and your hair looks really nice. I agree with bbloggers. There shouldn't be rules, just do and write about what you want xx

That dress is so so nice! I really like a lot of the Yayer stuff :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know what to think of the #bbloggers tag. I always seem to miss the discussions for some reason. I only write what I want to write about though, I don't do it to fit in or get more followers!
I've had a load of views and followers over the last couple of days too! xx
You should keep the dress it's lovely.
ReplyDeletei agree with you on the blogging front. i just started my own blog and i'm hoping people will like it for what it is rather than wish for the same format.
ReplyDeletealso, keep the dress! it looks lovely :)

I thin the dress looks lovely on you! And I totally agree - someone should write a blog that they themselves would love!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this dress. It´s so dreamy...and the colour´s just amazing x
ReplyDeleteDefinitely agree with you one the blogging front, as long as you like what you're doing then it doesn't matter! xx
ReplyDeleteSirens and Bells
Agree! Do think that visually pleasing pictures are quite important to blogging nowadays.

Kudos to your thoughts on blogging and the concept behind it; I totally agree in relation to the fact that you should simply enjoy it rather than try and follow several frivolous rules which may work, yet take a ridiculous amount of time to begin taking effect! - You look really lovely in this dress by the way; your hair looks nice too! - Daniel Dunt

Your dress is beautiful - the colour really suits you! I definitely think you should just enjoy blogging and not have to follow strict rules! Good luck with applying for the internships too xx

this dress is amazing. i understand on the blogging side, i have 19follows and im not good with codes and stuff to make my blog indivduall so im sturggling. but you just have to make your blog your own and put on it what your like and what your into and thats when your blog becomes loved!
ReplyDeletei love your blog, i only came across it a few days ago but its awesome

I adore that dress, really wanted it when it first went up on the store but I just couldn't justify the purchase. I find the #bbloggers discussion useful at times but it always get a little too authoritative on there too? Great to see how others perceive different aspects of blogging though! Good luck with finding an internship lovely (:
ReplyDeletePart of what I like about your blog is the individuality of it. I can tell your writing about what you want and how you feel which make you more of a 'real' person than some other bloggers if that makes sense?
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to your post and I love love love the colour of that dress! Surely some occasion will come up it'll be perfect for, looks like you can dress it up or down which is always a good thing!
xxx
The dress looks stunning on you, you should keep it and where it everywhere! I'm one of those people that's always overdressed hehe.
ReplyDeleteI agree on the bbloggers thing. I've never been around on twitter to catch all of it but the bits I have seen seem to be people dictating to others what their blog should look like and what they should post. A blog is a super personal thing & making it your own is the most important thing!
Gosh thank you for the link sweet, I've gained some really lovely new readers today & I think that's all down to you! Thank you so much, you're wonderful!
xoxo
P.S. Wishing you lots of luck on finding an internship sweet!
What a gorgeous dress! I wish i would have something the same as yours:)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous dress & it looks lovely on you.. you should keep it for yourself. :D
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with what you said about blogging. I love rambling on about everything & anything & if people like it, great. If not, doesn't really matter. :) xx
I think that dress is so cute on you, would you not even wear it on a night out or during the day? I agree with your points on blogging, although lately I've been struggling to find time to make posts and take photos I'm happy with. However I did notice than when I make posts I'd enjoy reading myself my visitors and followers numbers grew x
ReplyDeleteWow your blog got popular extremely quickly by the sounds of it! I totally agree with what you are saying though, i never expected the blogging world to be so 'do this do that' and desperate for a large following. I think its more about page views than followers anyway - the 'readers' are the ones who make the blog, anyone can follow and never visit again, its the people who visit daily whether they follow or not who are valuable.
ReplyDeleteOn the dress front I like it but it isn't anything special in my eyes!
You look absolutely beautiful! I love your dress. Totally agreed with you on the bbloggers thing. Massive thanks for the mention too! Means the world.
ReplyDeleteThis dress is gorgeous, would totally snap it up if I could fit into a size 8!!
