Overhyped.

I have a few things to blog about, but sans SD card it's just not possible! No blog post is complete without pictures. I'm planning on raiding Graemes flat tomorrow, hopefully I'll find one there and can move on with my life. Twitter followers will know that Graeme, my boyfriend, has gone off to Australia for a couple of weeks to do some gigs. I always get a bit sad at first, but it does go quite fast. I will never forget my first month in Leeds last year (after I had moved all the way down alone from Scotland) and Graeme had a two week tour in America, followed by a few days at home and then another two week tour of Australia. I remember feeling worried at the time, but it did set me up for life in a new city on my own!

I've been thinking about moving to London for a while now. I have big plans for my ~lyf~ and really want to get on with it but I can't find any opportunities/internships in Leeds and I feel a bit like I'm wasting time here. I'm trying to work out if I could handle living in London though...
What's everyones thoughts on this?

ALSO: I should probably mention I've added a few items to my blogshop! I have so much stuff that I want to get rid of, but can't face throwing away. If you've seen anything in my posts that you want, get in touch and make me an offer I can't refuse ;)

  1. I'm really excited about moving to London, I'm a bit daunted by the big city, but I know I have friends there, I've spent some time there so I think I'll survive! As long as you have people to turn to, I think you'll be okay!

  3. Well, London is meant to be the place where everything happens, perhaps look at job opportunities first, see if anything catches your interest, because it'd be a massive move. xx

  4. London is SO expensive to live in. I've lived here all my life and its ridiculous. You have to have your wits about you all the time and keep everything triple safe. It provides great opportunity, like internships and things but it isn't the only place great things happened. It's very fast pace too, which I hate!!

  6. I totally understand Ive just managed to get a 2 week internship in London but finding somewhere affordable to live for that time is extremely hard but I would still look. I live near leeds and could not find anyone willing to take on people for internships/experience even though I was on a placement year from Leeds met.

  7. london is easy peasy. don't know why everyone is so freaked out about it. is pretty much the same as everywhere only that you can do more. would recommend to check the area you want to move to first though 'cause there is really dodgy ones and really nice ones! also, if you are on flat-hunt, set yourself a limit of what you are able to spend a week and don't go with the first one you come across!

  12. London is really scary, when I interned there for 2 weeks last month is was SO daunting, but honestly completely worth it. It's really hard to find any internships/work experience anywhere other than London so I'd say if you can afford it, go for it. I can't wait to move down there when I graduate, I need to get saving! xx

  15. i really do think that if you want to get anywhere with most careers you need to move to london. i often feel like i'm wasting my life up north considering theres tons of design work in london and literally none round here but i've not really got any choice blarg. i think everyone should live in london at least once. i lived in london for 19 years so i'm used to the lifestyle but its very easy to adjust to. everything is just busier and more expensive. you could totes handle it kate xx

  17. London is really cool. I moved here from a tiny village in the middle of england expecting to hate it but I actually love it! Not as scary as I first thought at all, I've been here 3 years now. Yes, it's expensive but there are also so many opportunities here.

I totally sympathise with the bf situation too. My bf went away for three weeks almost as soon as we moved into our flat in London and I spent the first few nights barely sleeping and convinced someone was going to break in and kill me haha. They didn't though and it made me less of a scardey cat and more of an independent woman which is good.
