Review: Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit.

I've seen a few people rave about this product, especially since they changed the previously loose powder to a new compact, less-mess version. This is a concealer duo, designed for the under eye area. I have quite dark circles under my eyes, and usually use the YSL Touche Eclat but really wanted to try this Bobbi Brown kit after seeing a few good posts about it.
I like the idea of the powder coming with it, so I was matched up and given "Beige". From what I can see online, each kit comes with "Pale Yellow" powder, except for the lightest shade Porcelain - which comes with a white powder.

I'm used to a light highlighter such as the Touche Eclat, and I find the Bobbi Brown kit slightly heavy. It seems to collect in the lines under my eyes and just feels a bit heavy on that delicate area.
I've tried using less but I think the combination of an already slightly heavy concealer and a powder on top is just a bit too much. I'm not sure if this is just because I've only really used such light concealers/highlighters before, though.

I love the idea of this product, although its not great to travel with as you would ideally need to take two brushes with you. I love the simple, elegant packaging and the mirror is great. I will probably continue to use it and experiment with it, but it's not a concealer I reach for.

Has anyone else tried this product? What are your thoughts?

  1. Ooooh, love this review! I use Touche Eclat + think i'll be sticking with it after reading this, although i can see the benefits of this too. Xxx

  2. No I totally agree with you in that it is a heavy concealer and can draw attention to any lines you may have. Plus, if the skin is dehydrated its honestly a nightmare of a product much better with Touche Eclat. Now, Bobbi brown corrector under the eye, well, that's a whole other story...

  3. I've tried the old formula and loved what it did to my undereye in terms of coverage but HATED how it creased on me soooo bad! I gave it away to my sister coz this thing just didn't do it for me.. At the moment, I'm really enjoying Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer.. No major creasing and it stays put all day

  4. I've never tried this but i'd be interested in testing it at a counter, although like you i prefer a lighter concealer. Great review!

  5. Hmm, it looks really nice, but sounds like it's not doing what it should which is a bit disappointing!
I'm torn between this and the Laura Mercier secret camouflage, so I might go for that instead!
    Great review.

  6. You should try the Benefit Boing Concealer, Its light weight and really brightens under the eyes.

  7. I do actually really like this but yeah it can crease a lot. I think the effectiveness of the concealer is down to what formula of foundation you're using. It works nicely with a tinted moisturiser as opposed to something really full coverage. I still prefer it to MAC Studio Finish concealer tho. The Bobbi Brown Corrector is generally a better product in my opinion. That works beautifully even under something like Double Wear xx
