Review: Bumble&Bumble Texture Hair (Un)dressing Creme.

I've had a lot of requests for a post on how I do my hair each day. In all honesty, I don't do a lot. It's sort of naturally like this with a bit of help. My hair is in too-good condition. It's a nightmare, really. It's so soft and hard to manage, I can barely backcomb it. Awful if you love volume, like I do.

I've had B+B Texture Hair (Un)dressing Creme on my wishlist for so long, I'd actually forgotten about it until I was in Glasgow recently and found it in John Lewis. I love my hair when it's matte and has a bit of texture, because it's usually so soft and flat.
This product has been a life-saver, I'm so glad I purchased it as it makes my hair have so much more texture and volume. It gives it that unwashed, messy edge to it that I never get (I wash my hair every day).
The idea of this product is to apply it to wet hair. I put a small amount in my hands, rub them together and then pull my fingers through my hair - mainly around the roots. I leave it for a minute and then part my hair and style it (sort of) before blow drying. I usually tip my head upside down to give more volume, and then once it's dry it's pretty much finished!
Most of the time I'll run my GHDs through it, waving and curling sections loosely before backcombing a little bit.

This is really the only styling product I use in my hair now, it's great if, like me, your hair is a bit limp and flat. This gives you something to work with, without leaving any residue in your hair or making it look greasy. I find my hair sits really nicely after using this and I don't really need to do much with it.
It's definitely my go-to hair product, although it's a bit more expensive than other styling products, B+B is a great brand and I can't imagine using anything else - I use this every day.

Are there any similar products you would recommend?

  1. 1. I LOVE the fabric you take a lot of your product photos on. Its so adorable.
    2. I am definitely going to have to try this out, because like you my hair is so soft it never does a thing. No matter what I do to it, it stays in perfect condition. Which I suppose I should be thankful for.
    3. I feel as if I have been majorly creeping on you the past couple days via multiple social networks. O_o so sorry for that.

  2. texture powders are quite good, but they leave your hair feeling nasty! i think schwarzkopf do one that gives a matte effect.

  9. Ooh, I've been looking for something like this! I cut my hair off just before Christmas and have no idea how to style it. I might have to give this a try - at the minute if I try to mess it up it just ends up flicking out like a 50's Avon lady.

  11. You really suit your hair styled like that! I have the opposite problem - my hair is super thick and won't sit quietly. I long for soft hair! x

  13. This sounds like the sort of product that I have been searching for, however, the price is a little steep! Would u say it was worth it and does it last a long time? x

  14. I have the same issue, my hair was about your length too but i decided to grow it a little in order to just be able to pull it back better whilst at uni but it's even more flat and backcombing lasts for about 5 mins in my hair! I've tried B+B thickening spray aswell, that helps to give it abit of volume but essentially using B+B isnt the cheapest product at times!
Have you tried the Herbal Essences 'toussle me softly' that could be worth a try?

  15. Ooo I love a good texture cream! I usually use a volumising powder, but it leaves my hair looking a bit grey so I may try this! Your hair always looks gorgeous!

  16. I've only ever used B+B conditioner and I didn't like it the smell was so sickly and last way too long it gave me a headache but then again it work beautifully and my hair was silky soft. I defiantly rate B+B but not sure on the smells!

  19. So glad you posted this. I have the same hair. TOO healthy, virgin-like hair! Ugh. I use the 'FAT HAIR thickening creme' in my roots and it kind of drys it out and gives it tons and texture and volume. You should give it a try if you can get your hands on it. Its a drugstore product here in Vancouver.

  21. I love dry shampoo. My hair is always sot and glossy on the first day, but that's kind of how I like it best, but I've weaned myself off daily washing to every second day and I use dry shampoo in between. The trick is to spray, then rub so your hair doesn't look grey, then brush. Gives good volume and a totally different texture for me. The Charles Worthington one in the silver can with the purple lid is my fave, but its quite pricey so I tend to buy Tresemme on special offer instead which is almost as good!

  22. Never tried this before but I have horrifically thin hair. I normally use dry shampoo or the samy fat hair range, only thickening shampoo I've used that actually works! x

  24. This looks like it would be perfect for me – I struggle with fine, limp hair and often feel like I need something to add a bit of texture and volume.

I’ve been using Label.m’s resurrection dust but I have found it leaves my hair feeling a little sticky which isn’t great.

  26. I have naturally thick hair and it's rather long too, so you'd think I don't need to use too much product to boost it. Well... I still use Tigi Small Talk which is a thickifier as well as a styling product. Smells divine and makes my hair managable!

  27. My hair is totally the same! I am using Alterna Hemp organics colour hold thickening compound at the moment and it is fab!! Also I have found if I spray Ellnete very volume on the roots and back comb with a denman backcombing brush it stays all day. I was thinking of doing a tutorial on it?? X
