Recently I've been banging on about a new favourite foundation I've discovered and I couldn't wait to share it with you. I purchased Silk Creme on a whim in Space NK after the sales assistant told me it was long wearing, good coverage and a luminous finish. Sounds like the dream right? Right.
This foundation is absolutely amazing, it puts all other foundations to shame! It's the most incredible shade - Cream Ivory is perfect for me which never, ever happens! It lasts so well on the skin, a full day and I don't feel the need to wear powder. The finish is beautiful, I find that the coverage is full enough to cover all and look flawless (it covers my redness, scarring and blemishes so well) while still looking incredibly natural and making my skin look glowing and healthy.
I'm wearing it in the above picture, with a touch of concealer and no powder. Any marks or blemishes I may have are completely hidden and I still think it looks really natural and luminous.
I have been using Silk Creme every day since I got it - it's my perfect foundation and everything I have been looking for. I have taken the "less is more" approach and only use a pea size amount, blended in with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush. You can see more on my daily makeup in this post.
This is hands down the best foundation I've tried, the coverage is flawless and the finish is glowing, natural and healthy. I am so pleased I don't need powder, despite my skin being on the oily side, and I'm really happy with how long it lasts on my skin.
I really cannot hype this enough! Have you tried this foundation? What were your thoughts?
I really want to try this, it looks lovely. Your skin looks flawless xx
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely on you! Is it paraben-free? Then I might buy it myself too! It is that pretty!! Ixx
ReplyDeleteOh I was thinking about trying out this foundation! I have so many on the go at the moment, have just added a Bare Minerals starter kit into the mix as well!
ReplyDeleteMaybe When I have used some of the others up I will invest in this one! It sounds (and looks) perfect! :-)

ReplyDeleteSo tempting Kate! I don't want to go into Space NK alone I'm worried about getting sucked in and spending a fortune. Also, I can't help but read your posts in you voice! W

This is my absolute favourite, it seems quite thick when you squeeze it out which is a bit off putting but it blends so well and like you said covers EVERYTHING instantly, I feel that most days I don't even have to apply concealer.

I think I saw you talk about this little magic tube on a youtube video and I really want to buy it because I have extremely fair skin, which makes it hard for me to find good foundations that don’t make me look like a clown. I need to find a way to get this foundation (I don’t think they stock them here, in Portugal). You look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds AMAZING! I'm on the hunt for a new foundation and I need a long-lasting full coverage foundation so I may have to get a sample of this X
ReplyDeleteThis looks perfect, I can never find a foundation for my pale skin, must start saving now though as its rather pricey! Thanks for the review :)

Oh wow, think I'm going to have this a go! About the LM tinted moisturiser after everyone raved about that, but I didnt really like it! Currently using Chanel Lumiere foundation but think this will be my next one to try, your skin looks lovely, so fresh and clear..I'm jealous!
ReplyDeleteallaboutthegirlblog.blogspot.com xx
it's a beautiful foundation, full coverage but doesn't feel heavy, or it can be sheered out. Unfortunately it doesn't last long on my combination skin but I'll definitely be using it in the winter months.

i'm looking for a foundation with good coverage (my skin has awful blemishes and scarring) but not too cakey. I'll have to give this a try!
ReplyDeletewhat lipstick are you wearing?

I want to try out a few Laura Mercier foundations: the mineral powder, the oil free supreme foundation and now most definitely this! x
ReplyDeleteI initially adored this foundation, but now I feel like it oxidises on my skin really noticeably and also makes my skin incredibly oily despite my usual dryness so I have to powder. I'm considering repurchasing it to see if it was just a bad one or something because it looks flawless on you!
ReplyDeleteThat looks absolutely amazing! I've never tried a Laura Mercier foundation but that one looks well worth a try x
ReplyDeletejacinderella.blogspot.com
wow this sounds absolutely GORGUZ! Will def be checking it out next time I'm passing their counter :) Looks beautiful on you :)
ReplyDeleteLove Aysh xoxo
It sounds like a dreaaaaam, I wonder what it would be like on dry skin?xx
ReplyDeleteSounds like the perfect foundation and your skin looks flawless. I just might have to try it.
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely my HG foundation! Its the definition of dreamy! I remember the first time I used some of my friends before a night out with a MACC 188 brush and was literally amazed at how perfect my skin looked. Silk creme with sleek pomegranate blusher and MAC soft and gentle is an unbeatable combo! X
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite foundation! I bought it at random out of all the others at Sephora and love it. I was using MAC for a while but could never find a shade that matched. I'm medium ivory in this! x
ReplyDeleteI've heard so many good things about this product. I'm so glad you told me it is able to cover acne scarring! I have a pale complexion and drugstore foundations are the worst for us pale gals so I think it's finally time to purchase this bad boy. 33 pounds is quite pricey for me, but hey! A little splurge never hurt anybody :)
ReplyDeleteThis was a very helpful post. Thank you :)

I can't take my eyes from your eye! Like wow! I saw the oldest post with MAC lipstick and I thought oh my..and them this post and once again!
ReplyDeleteOf course I love laura mercier but the price..horrifying. I have blush from laura mercier it's nice but I think I stay with cream blushes.
Oh I need this in my life, such a great review and you look flawless.
