Review: Clarins Liquid Bronze Facial Tanner.

I'm not big on tanning, I quite like being fair and I find fake tanning hard to keep up. I do like a bit of colour on my face, so for the last two Summers I have been using Clarins Liquid Bronze (please note they have changed the packaging recently, this had me very confused!) on my face and neck to give me a subtle glow.
I don't use any other tanning product on my face, as this area takes in more product so if you're using a tanning product for your body, it's likely it will end up darker on your face (compared to your body). Clarins Liquid Bronze gives a really subtle glow, without looking uneven or dirty.

I use this a few times a week, I used to use my hands but I find using a cotton pad gives a more even finish as the consistency of this product is quite thin and milky. I use it after my moisturiser (sometimes before I don't think it matters too much), in either the morning or the evening and I love the subtle, healthy glow it gives my skin.

If you're worried about applying a self tan to your face, then I would go for Liquid Bronze. It's really subtle and won't leave you looking orange or a different colour from your body. I've never had any problems with it streaking or going in my hairline and I find it's really easy to use - I've actually never had this go wrong (apart from one time when I first got it, I left a considerable gap from my hairline and face and had a pale streak around my hairline - hot).

I find the bottle does last well, although it's hard to say as I use this most in Summer and only occasionally in Winter (twice a month maybe) but I do think it's worth paying a bit more as I use less foundation and look a lot healthier after using Liquid Bronze.

What are your favourite Clarins products?

  1. I have an origins face tanner that sounds similar to this but it has a bit of shimmer in it which im not too keen on, this sounds perfect though!x

  2. Might have to try this, I don't usually like putting tanning products on my face as it's already quite oily and I'm always worried they'll break me out. Sounds like it's worth investing in though! x

  3. This sounds really good - like you I'm very fair and I stay away from face-tanners because I find they make me look a bit grubby, but I might check this one out! x

  4. This sounds like what I've been looking for - my fake tan always wears off my face a lot quicker than my body - so I've been looking for something specific to use on it!

  11. I'm very pale too and I think, this is the best tanner I have ever used on my face results-wise. Unfortunatly, I'm not sure if it also caused me to break out badly too. However, the results were so very good, I'm very tempted to tentatively give it another shot. I LOVED the colour it gave me!

  12. Lovely post! I usually find using a gradual tanner is a lot more natural looking and easy to use. Garnier Summer Body moisturiser is usually my go-to, but will definitely try this, thanks!! xx

  13. Oow this sounds like a great product! Thanks for the review, I get nervous about using fake tan on my face (or letting my face tan at all) but I do like the healthy glow! And Sometimes I need to bring my face up to colour with the rest of my body haha xx

  14. I have been eyeing this for some time but I do worry about tanning my face and leaving my entire body and being left with a 2 tone effect - not good. I love the look of fake tanning but find it such a chore but this looks dead easy I may have to give it a go :-)

  16. This sounds really lovely! I am fair as well and don't mind it much, but it is nice to have a bit of color. Everything I have tried from Clarins has been nothing short of fabulous!

  17. This sounds lovely. I'd love to try it but as I am naturally tanned, it may not make much of a difference for me! Great review though xo

  19. Thanks for sharing this! :) I'm really fair so I get a bit scared when it comes to bronzing products (especially for your face). But this sounds wonderful! I might even get the courage to give it a try :)

    Have a lovely weekend!
