I have quite a collection of primers now, I really think they are essential and there's definitely something out there for everyone - whether you're looking for a flawless base, longer lasting makeup, a matte finish or a radiant glow.
I recently bought Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch after hearing about it from Danyelle. I had been using Benefits Pore-Fessional but wanted to try something different, and the Hourglass Veil Primer was a little out of budget at the time. I'm a big fan of Clarins, their products are always great so I knew this would be a winner.
Instant Smooth aims to smooth over pores and create a flawless base. It's a product that really helps to give the illusion of a perfectly smooth finish and I'm so pleased with the results.
I use this after moisturising in the morning to smooth over pores, it also helps to calm blemishes by reducing the redness. I find it similar to Pore-Fessional but better quality and not as greasy, this doesn't leave any sort of tacky feeling on my skin and you only need the smallest amount to leave skin looking amazing. I have combination skin type, a bit oily on my T-Zone and dry on my cheeks, so it can be hard to find a primer which helps to smooth over pores without feeling oily, whilst also not making dry areas look flakey and feel tight.
This is great for all over and I find it moisturises where I need it, smooths over my skin without leaving product sitting on top of my skin whilst also helping to create a flawless base for my makeup.

I've since seen this on Pixiwoos blog, which is always a good sign! They think it's a great primer for acne sufferers, which is so true - it's definitely one for those who need to cater for a combination skin type or those with oversized pores or blemishes.
This product is quickly becoming my go to primer and I love how easy it is to make my skin look lovely, without the hassle of using a handful of products. You will love this if you have a similar skin type to me, or suffer from blemishes. If you haven't got on with Benefit's Pore-fessional, give this a whirl!

What do you think of Clarins products? I am literally obsessed at the moment! Any recommendations?
Wish I had the money to pay for this, it sounds perfect for my type of skin! I managed to find the sample size porefessional from glamour the other day so might try that out for the time being x

I've had this stuff for a while and it works like a dream! I've been a bit obsessed with Clarins products for a while, I love their Daily Energizer range and the Extra Firming Foundation.
ReplyDeleteI've always been scared of using primers because they tend to break me out (including The Porefessional), but this Clarins one sounds like a dream! I'm currently using their Beauty Flash Balm as a sort of primer and I've loved it, so I think I'm going to give this a try. Thanks so much for this review!

Primers tend to break me out so I am always skeptical when purchasing ones! :(

I was given a little sample pot of this in March and I still have loads left, it's really good, I like using it under my eyes too, I have really dry skin & my concealer often creases under my eyes & settles into fine lines (hate to admit to that but I'm an oldie!) but this really helps its great! Brilliant review, thank you :) Zoe xxx
ReplyDeleteLooks great - I wasn't a fan of Porefessional - way too greasy!!xx

This primer looks amazing! I would never think to purchase one from Clarins but I randomly got some dry patches on the cheeks recently and as I'm new to the dry skin arena, I realised a lot of my makeup really didn't work on top of them, so the fact that its moisturising is a total win!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to look into buying this soon :D
I recently purchase the toning body polisher which is possibly THE best body exfoliator ever :-D
ReplyDeleteYou can read my review of it here: http://echocanyon.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/clarins-toning-body-polisher.html

This sounds amazing! I'm yet to find a primer that's right for my skin, maybe this one's worth a try xo
ReplyDeleteOh wow, this primer sounds great! Thanks for posting it :) I also have combination skin and couldn't find a primer yet which works perfectly for it. Will get the clarins primer asap. xx

I love Clarins, especially their Everlasting Foundation, give that a go, it's amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love Clarins products and have used their body moisturiser and day cream, but never thought to use their make up range for some reason. I've been looking for a good primer (high street cheapos really dry out my skin) and may have to give this a go. Thanks for describing your skin type too, mine is the same as yours so it helps to know its good for dry bits and oily bits x
