At the start of this month, I attended the International Makeup Artist Trade Show (IMATS) as I had managed to acquire myself a press pass.
I had an idea of what I wanted to get when I got there, and myself and a few other bloggers went early so we could skip the rush (although quite a lot of people had the same idea!).
I love Illamasqua products, so I had a long list for the stand. Unfortunately, they didn't have anything I wanted and their selection was pretty limited. What they did have, however, was pretty well priced - most things (including my purchases) were £7.50 or less. I bought a cream foundation which I'm yet to properly use - although it looks like it's going to be a nice consistency for top ups during the day - and also a cream blusher. I have quite a few Illamasqua blushers but this is my first cream one, it's a lovely bright pink and it goes so well with my skin tone.
The one thing I really wanted to get my paws on was the infamous MUFE HD Foundation. This isn't available in UK stores (that I know of) so it was top of my list. I'm not massively pleased with it, I don't think the coverage is all that great, but my skin is pretty horrific at the moment due to my Clarisonic purging stage so once it calms down I'll be back to medium coverage foundations and I'll no doubt have a lot more love for this product.
I didn't actually have Inglot on my list of wants, but I passed the stand, saw the cheap prices (£6 or £7 for the lip products) and loved the colours. These lip products have actually turned out to be my favourite purchases. The Lip Pencil is similar to the NARS ones, but more Matte and not as soft in texture. They're so so much cheaper and the colours are just as lovely.

The Lipstick is also a lovely colour and glides on so nicely, they're very pigmented whilst also having a lovely glossy finish.
I found the discounts at IMATS to be average, nothing to write home about but definitely worth going if you have a free press pass. I don't think it's worth buying a ticket just for the discount - unless you're a Pro wishing to fill your kit!
What do you think of my IMATS purchases?

ReplyDeleteSuch pretty colors! I think you will like the foundation when your skin calms down. It literally makes my skin look airbrushed , I use it with my fingers and then blend it out with a synthetic brush and some translucent powder!
ReplyDeleteThat blush looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm currently running a giveaway for the chance to win a Clarisonic Mia! I'd love it if you could check it out on my blog. xx
