Review: Chanel Illusion D'ombre in Emerveille

I had planned to post this a while ago, but somehow deleted the post. I've had this for a couple of months now after lusting after it for so long. It's quite a popular product in this here blogging world, and I always like to post about the hyped products to see how they match up.

The formula of this is like no other, it's very spongey but easy to apply. I find that with primer, it doesn't really budge during the day, although it can crease slightly.
As it's a Chanel product, you can expect the quality to be high! I use my fingers to apply this usually, I find that it's best this way and I haven't really used anything else to compare. It almost feels slightly damp so I can't imagine a brush working so well.

I think this colour is gorgeous, definitely a shade that suits and flatters all. It's quite a warm, rosy gold that's just so easy to wear, day or night.
The packaging is typical, luxurious Chanel - I feel proud getting it out of my makeup bag as it's just as beautiful on the outside as it is on the inside.

This is definitely a product to splurge on if you feel like treating yourself. I think it's such a beautiful but unique product, and it really is worth the money.

  7. Chanel is just an amazing brand in general! I don't think I've ever used a Chanel beauty product I didn't love. I have the shade Illusoire in the Illusion d'Ombre and it's beautiful! It's like a purple/grey colour and it has the perfect amount of shimmer and sparkle. Emerveille would be a great everyday neutral, I imagine.

  8. I've been itching to buy one of these for a while now. I keep putting off going to the Chanel counter because it's getting a bit tiring trying to convince the ladies I'm a real life customer. I think I might treat myself to this shade on pay day. The colour suits you soo well!

  11. I have Epatant and love it, but I've been really wanting Emerveille for a natural wash of color across my lids on days where I don't have much time to do my eye makeup. So pretty!

  14. I've got the epatant, the purple one and the black one and they're all drying out in a weird way, and flake off my eyes when I apply too much product... not sure if I'm doing something wrong! I really like your blush by the way, which one is it?!x

  24. I just purchased my third colour out of this range earlier this month. I struggled a bit with application, and generally found fingers worked best, though for shading I used my own brush. This colour is so pretty, it really suits your skintone.
