Shu Uemura Under Base Mousse in Beige - £29 (Sample from an event)
This product has really helped, although I was really hesitant at first and didn't try it for a few weeks after I received it, I'm really pleased I did!
I've never used a mousse as a primer before, infact the only time I've used a mousse is in my hair so I was confused as to what this did. It aims to smooth over the skin, even out tone and helping minimise blemishes - basically prepping and priming and creating a flawless base. It also provides UV protection.
I spray a small amount on to my hand - I have a habit of spraying far too much as it's hard to control the amount - and then apply it to my skin as you would any other product. At first, this seems hard to blend and quite sticky, this is slightly off-putting but if you leave it to set for a minute or so, it leaves such a soft and flawless base.
Pores seems to be instantly minimised, and the tone of my skin is a lot more even and smoothed over. As it's slightly tinted, I think this helps to create the perfect base.
At first I thought that a mousse was a strange choice for a primer, but thinking about it, it's ideal as it's so lightweight. I can't feel anything on my skin, it doesn't feel dry or cakey but soft and smooth to the touch.
I do think this helps to keep my makeup in place all day, it's the perfect primer.
Of course, there is the small issue of the price. I'm not sure how I feel about paying £29 for this, it seems a little over priced for a primer, but it has made a huge difference to my skin. It's very easy to spray out too much product also, so I feel like I waste a fair amount too. I try to use this only on special occasions, although I probably will end up repurchasing as it's one of the best primers I have found.
Sounds like a nice primer! If it really delivers what it claims and it lasts for many-many applications then it's not that expensive ;)

Sounds interesting? Do you feel is helps minimise the look of your pores more than pore-fessional? x
ReplyDeleteThis sounds great! Shame about the price but I can always treat myself some time I guess :P

Ah, tempted. But £29 is alot more than I'd usually spend on make up. I am a bit bored of my L'oreal primer though so am looking for a decent alternative. Shine's a big problem for me, did you notice that this helped with that?
ReplyDeleteXo
I have this and used to use it daily - until I realised it didn't actually make a difference! Maybe it depends on skin type - mine is quite oily.
ReplyDeleteI adore your blog but i especially love your beauty posts. :3
ReplyDeleteSouns really interesting, so expensive though :/
