Off With Your Head.

Top & Necklace - H&M, Skirt - Urban Outfitters, Lipstick - Sleek Peaches & Cream

I threw this on this morning because it was sunny but eventually had to admit defeat and put on some tights instead when the wind and clouds kicked in.

I put together a blog sale which you might have seen. Some bargains to be had! I'm going to try and update my blog sale a lot more often because I really need to clear out everything if i'm going to be moving at some point!

Today I went for a look around town, for some reason I absolutely hate shopping in Leeds. I'm not a massive fan of shopping anyway, I'm extremely impatient and can't deal with people walking slowly/in to me. Leeds is very badly laid out, the shops are miles apart (and New Look is a mission to get to!)
I wish there were more high street stores as well, not just in Leeds but in general. I guess it's heightened in blogging that there isn't enough variety, we really only have Topshop, H&M, Miss Selfridge, Urban Outfitters and Zara etc.
I know from my own experiences with blogging that you do get a lot of "so and so is copying this blogger" but well, we don't got much to work with!
Personally, one of my favourite things about fashion blogs (those which are predominantly high street fashion) is you get to see how different people wear the same or similar items. Everyone can wear a Topshop skirt, but the real creativity lies in how they wear it and what they wear it with. I'm pretty much a "throw on and go" type of person, but I love seeing how an outfit can come together!

  1. Hey lovely!

You look pretty! I'm from Leeds too! I went yesterday and was a nightmare...shopping brings the devil out in me, people walking like they've got all the time in the world, makes me want to hit them arount the head with my handbag haha...I must sound awful!
Went to trafford centre on Sunday that was so much better!

  3. Kate I want your wardrobe. And your fast growing hair.
Despite loving spending money I share the same dislike for actually shopping, I HATE it when people stop to have a conversation on a busy street and always have the urge to shove them out of the way like some form of shoppers tourettes.
My sister actually wheeled a man in a wheelchair out of her way once.... She was mortified but her shoppers frustration took over

  5. The title has got the Yeah Yeah Yeahs into my head!

Gorgeous skirt. I think you're right about a lot of bloggers having the same stuff, but I'm always surprised that myself and my friends don't have more of the same stuff, considering we all shop in the same places. I think eBay and online shopping have really helped in that regard.

  7. Well said Kate! There's so little choice on the high street, and not only are there so few shops, they all copy each other... everywhere does the same style scalloped tops, skater dresses, peter pan collars etc etc etc! As a blogger the best thing to do is just wear what you enjoy wearing, most people will enjoy seeing, as you said, how it was styled. If other people have issues with it, well that's up to them! x

  8. very true as with limits on unique more expensive clothing people have to be creative with similar items and thats more relative, interesting and inspiring!

  9. One of my favourite things about reading fashiony blogs is seeing things I've liked on the high street on other people and the ways in which they wear them :)
This outfit is nice, love the necklace

  10. I totally agree, I love seeing how different people style the same things! Which is such a great part of blogging, I think. I hate it when I see people saying "OH ALL BLOGS ARE THE SAME" like theirs is so unique. Has fashion taught us nothing?! The industry is based on recycled ideas! Also, how horrible has this summer been weatherwise? Disappointing.

  11. people are ridiculous do they expect EVERY blogger to own different clothes? no we all (well most of us) shop on the high street so there for will at some point have the same clothes it's just obviously going to happen! and so what if you styled it the same way as lily? i take inspiration from fashion bloggers and re create some of their looks! don't listen to some people hahah!
I love this outfit i think i really need a plain grey t-shrit in my wardrobe!

  16. Love that skirt :)
I completely agree.. I love seeing how different people can make one item of clothing look completely different! A lot of blogs have the same features but it doesn't matter because each blogger makes it their own :) x

  17. yeah the shops in leeds are totally spaced out. man it's such a treck! the first time i went to leeds i couldn't find newlook or any shop! but luckily i'd walked past it looking for UO. leeds is my place to shop now though because where i live there's no shops. i do go to hull sometimes too. i don't know if i'd like to live in a big city where everyone comes to shop though, i can't stand it when my town's busy when i just want to nip in and buy something.
i definitely agree with you on looking for inspiration from other bloggers, it's nice to see how people wear the same things. if i see someone wearing something i like i will most likely go out and buy it. england does definitely need a bunch of new shops though.

  19. that is so true about the creativity part... i don't like the idea of someone copying me, especially with accessories, thats why i make most of my own things, or go to the charity shop or just mix and match... its the way forward :)

  20. Went shopping in Leeds today, usually love it but today it dawned on me how much I hate it! So many slow walkers (hate them too) and everything IS such a walk away from each other.

  21. I live 30 mins outside Leeds and I really like shopping there, but that's because the local highstreet shops are mainly filled with less stock and tiny crammed together stores. I hate the Topshop in Leeds though, so busy and tiny. I definitely recommend York for a good Topshop! X

  24. Liverpool is quite nice to shop in now. I usually go for manchester but recently Liverpool has been stealing me away. It's just rubbish if it's wet and cold because the shops go on forever! You have the main bit and now liverpool one. You can spend days there!

  26. The print on your skirt is so nice! I've been in tights for the majority of the summer, thanks England(!) The copying debate is so ridiculous, there's only so much you can buy on the High Street, and there are thousands of blogs out there so it's impossible to be completely unique. Excited to meet you tomoz missy. xxx

  27. Completely agree with you on your last point. With the high street people undoubtedly will end up with the same or similar pieces, putting your own personality on it and styling something your way is what makes it interesting.
I love your skirt and lipstick in this xx
