Recent Travels.

I mentioned on Twitter a while back that my little brother picked me up a new pair of Ray Bans and Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume at the airport on the way to Israel. I've been wishing for a pair for so long and I'm so pleased to finally have my hands on them. I have a Topshop pair which I wear a lot too, which are a bit more of a vintage style. I love wayfarers, I don't think oversized glasses really go with my "style".
I've also been after the Daisy perfume for so long, I was really glad when Chris picked up the Eau De Parfum over the Eau De Toilette because I do prefer the parfum (in general, not just with Daisy) it lasts so much longer on your skin and you only need one or two sprays for the whole day.

I packed really quickly before I left as I just wanted to escape the city and chill out, but obviously I still managed to pack my makeup bag. This is a downsized version of it, but it shows what I travel with. I got matched up and a sample of Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation today. I know in summer I should be wearing something lighter, but I like good, full coverage and something that doesn't slip off during the day. I'll let you know how I get on, I secretly hope it's a bit rubbish as it's a bit more expensive than my normal MAC and Clinique foundations.
I also bought a new Harlan Coben book, who is one of my favourite authors, and packed my Laura Mercier Fresh Fig Hand Creme and Jurlique Rose Love Balm for dry lips as well as my Optrex eye drops as my eyes get so dry!

Reasons to be happy.

home. taken with my Ultra Slim+Wide film camera.

Home is where the heart is. I came back home to Scotland (I live in Leeds, but I'm planning to move to London in November) on a whim today and I feel so relieved. Sometimes you just need to get out of the city and appreciate the countryside. Leeds has been hideously muggy this week which was unbearable, I was greeted with gorgeous cold and fresh air as I leapt off the train. I can't wait to sleep in my own (old) bed, I will take some pictures of my room here as it's lovely!

There has been a little bit of twitter hating on the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards 2011 but I think anything that gives you recognition for working hard is great. I'm not going to relentlessly post about it, but if you would like to vote for me as a "new beauty blog" you can do so here. It would be appreciated!

Tonight mainly consists of catching up on TV, listening to Death Cab and drinking hot chocolate. Such a perfect night when you're back at the parents!

Wishlist #6: Topshop.

How bad is it that I'm already excited about autumn/winter clothing! I'm really not a 'summer dresser', I find it difficult to know what to wear in Britain due to the weather being hopelessly unpredictable!
I wandered into Topshop today (without buying anything due to all spare money going into the London fund) and had a little squeal when I saw fur coats on the rails. FUR COATS MEAN IT'S GETTING COLDER.
I'm a seriously casual dresser most of the time, I like comfy tshirts, scarfs and big jumpers which doesn't play well in summer.
I've been trying to find the perfect grey tshirt for so long, and I was planning to roll up the sleeves myself but here we have it, a ready made one. I didn't see this in store today (otherwise it would be proudly hanging in my wardrobe right now), but I think it would go well with anything, especially this coral maxi skirt or with black skinny jeans and the burgundy scarf.

I'm also loving structured handbags at the moment, I'm still lusting over a Mulberry (take note, dad!) but this Topshop cutie will do for the time being.

I'm on the look out for a nice pair of Creepers. I've loved Creepers for so long, ever since I was emo (seriously) aged 15. I want a teal coloured pair, but can't find the perfect ones. I know they're not for everyone, but they would add some serious inches on to my height too.

How are you feeling about my premature A/W lustings?
