April Favourites.

I can't believe we're almost finished the third day of May already! What a farce. Anyway, here are a few of my favourites from last month.

♥ Garnier Summer Body: I have never understood why people spend so much money on St. Tropez and Fake Bake when there are gradual tanners like this which give you such an amazing glow. One application of this makes me the perfect golden colour, no streaks, no orange hue. Just a lovely tan. I've never tried anything expensive to be honest, and I have no plans to. I hate the orange tinge and looking fake! I really recommend this product, you can't go wrong with it.

♥ Rimmel 60 Second Nail Polish in Rose Libertine: This is the perfect colour of pink! I am completely in love with this, what a beautiful shade. It's slightly coral, and just such a lovely colour. I never really buy anything from Rimmel but I couldn't resist! I've been wearing this so much recently. You can probably tell from the second picture that my nails are awful, I hate painting my nails. I'm really impatient so if it doesn't dry in 2 seconds, I'll ruin it by trying to do ten things at once. Sadly, nail care is just not for me. But this colour is too gorgeous to pass up.

♥ Sigma Flat-Top Kabuki brush: This kabuki brush, which I mentioned here, has become my favourite brush recently for putting on powder (my powder of choice is my MAC MSF natural in light medium). It works really well to buff in the powder to set my makeup. I personally don't see the point in wearing foundation if you're not going to wear powder, it really sets your face and lasts so much longer & as well as keeping the shine under control so we don't look like Lauren from TOWIE.

♥ MAC Fluidline in Backtrack: I recently mentioned that I couldn't do eyeliner flicks (I will never be perfect, it makes it even harder that we were blessed with two eyes, which means we have to do TWO eyeliner flicks & they have to match) but using this product with my MAC 209SE brush makes it so much easier. I'm still getting the hang of it, and I find it harder to correct any mistakes (which I guess is a sign that it lasts longer!) but it is a really good product. Hopefully with some practice, I will become a massive fan of it.

♥ Garnier Youthful Radiance Day & Night Cream; I recently invested in two good moisturisers. These are probably meant for "First Signs of Ageing" skin which isn't quite me yet (I'm 20) but I don't think you can really start too early on these things. The night cream is lovely and thick and my skin has already improved from using a night cream. The day cream is a little less viscous, which makes it easier to apply & absorb. Both really great products, which will hopefully improve my overall complexion.

♥ Body Shop Vitamin E Cleanser & Toner; I got these the other day when it was 20% off for card holders and I've used them every night ever since. My skin feels so clean after use, and I really feel like they remove every last trace of my makeup whilst leaving it feeling soft and refreshed.

There are a few other products which I have been loving recently but they deserve their own post! Stay tuned.

Monday, Monday, Monday.

Today I decided to have a look at the No7 range, because I have so many £5 off vouchers. I quite like their skincare, but as I've already bought a heap of new products this week I decided to check out the makeup and the new Exquisite Curl Mascara caught my eye.
I'd heard good things about the mascara, and I'd never tried a No7 mascara before (that I can remember, anyway) so I decided to purchase. With the mascara, you get a free eye shadow palette as well and because of my voucher, I got both products for £8! The mascara is usually £13.

This is the "Define and Shimmer" eye palette, which is made up of a shimmering white/gold, a shimmering light green, plum and purple. It also comes with a brush too, which may come in handy.
Usually, when buying an eye palette I stick to natural colours such as beige, gold and browns so getting this free will hopefully inspire me to experiment a bit more with eyeshadow looks.

The eyeshadows are all highly pigmented, and are speckled with gold. I'm not sure how I would wear the green shadow, but I absolutely love the other shades. Definitely a dark purple smokey eye in the making.

I haven't tried the mascara yet because I already have mascara on, but the brush is curved with brush bristles (rather than rubber ones). At the moment I'm still loving my Maybelline One by One mascara which has rubber bristles (you can see the post here) and works really well for me. Hopefully this No7 mascara will be even better!

When I was on my way to the till, I spotted L'Oreal Derma Genesis Pore Minimising Serum in the clearance section for a whole £4.50! I'd been eyeing this up recently, at the full price of over £16, so I was so pleased to see it marked down under £5.
I haven't tried a serum before, as most of them are anti-aging and I'm only 20! I have massive pores (i'm sure i've mentioned them before...) so anything to shrink them is my friend.
I'm going to give this a shot and then do a post on it properly. Exciting!

I also bought this Garnier Fresh Essentials cleanser because Hannah had mentioned how much it had helped her skin. I mentioned yesterday that I needed a new cleanser, and I'll try anything to help my skin so hopefully this will clear it up a bit.

I also made some Oreo cupcakes today! Which makes it a totally productive day off. Om nom noms.

Weekend Haul.

Yesterday I headed into Superdrug to get some lipbalm, and ended up leaving with all this. I've raved about my love for this Neutrogena Scrub before, which you can see here. I was always going to repurchase this, because it really is amazing.
I also got some Batiste Dry Shampoo for dark brown hair. I'm one of those people that has to wash their hair every day, I couldn't just leave it so this dry shampoo is more for adding volume to my hair than "washing" it. I have really soft hair, and it's impossible to do anything with. Backcombing won't hold, and my hair goes flat in minutes, so Batiste gives it that sort of dirty feeling that not-washed hair has, so I can work with it more easily. I have the original version, but I could never use it as my hair is too dark and the white powder could be seen. Even when I rubbed it in properly and brushed it through, I was still paranoid throughout the day that it was showing!
So you can't imagine how pleased I was when they released a brown version! My hair absolutely loves this, I am actually sporting a top knot today which I could never achieve before because my hair just fell out of place.
The smell is divine too! I'd definitely recommend this, especially for instant volume and body. It also comes in a few different varieties, including Original, Silver Shimmer, Gold Shimmer, Fresh, Nude, Brit, Tropical, Blush and Boho which you can purchase here.

I also bought this Garnier Body Intensive 7 Days Ultra-Softening Lotion as I'd heard good things about it. I got the version for dry to extra dry skin, but there are others including one with Aloe Vera for normal skin and Mango for dry skin. There are a few others which you can check out here.
The product is quite viscous which I think is important in a body lotion because it seems more appealing. It has the most gorgeous smell which lingers on your skin for a while. It reminds me a bit of suntan lotion. It rubs in easily and my skin feels moisturised and supple afterwards. I often get dry skin around my ankles so I'll need to see how it works there.
It claims that skin feels "hydrated for 7 days" but i'm not sure how this claim holds up as i've only had it for one day. It contains glycerin which is a humectant and a main ingredient in moisturisers as it increases the water content in the skin cells meaning skin isn't dry and dehydrated.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this works out for me, as I love a good body lotion.

I also bought some nice things from Lush a while ago, including my favourite Honey I Washed The Kids soap (I did buy double of what is pictured but I cut pieces off and use them quickly) I adore the smell of this soap, it's gorgeous!
I also bought this 'Its' Raining Men' shower gel, which was from the Valentines collection. Although it seems it is still available online (the online store is back up, having semi-recovered from the hacking). It's meant to have the same scent as Honey I Washed the Kids, and I've heard other bloggers raving about the smell, but I just don't like it! It does smell similar to the soap, but it has a funny after scent which is putting me off a bit, hence why it's hardly been used.
Has anyone else bought this product and not fallen in love with the smell?
Finally, I got the Catastrophe Cosmetic face mask, which is my favourite! This has actually all been used up, but I'm keeping the packaging to take back to the shop. It contains blueberries which are really rich in antioxidants and are just amazing for my skin. If you haven't tried this, I really recommend it because it's gorgeous!
